From Detroit’s Cake Boss to your neighborhood Bake Boss.....

Jessica Tabaka isn’t your average baker....unless your average baker is a chainsaw-wielding, fondant-sculpting, Detroit pastry powerhouse with a thing for pearls and a KitchenAid.

Before founding Milk Glass Kitchen, Jessica spent well over a decade in the Motor City’s fine dining scene as an Executive Pastry Chef at iconic spots like The Whitney, Cuisine, Lady of the House, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She also ran Cake Ambition, her award-winning custom cake studio in downtown Detroit, under her former name Jessica Bouren, where she built edible showpieces for celebrities, athletes, and local legends- including the Lions, the Pistons, Jimmy Buffett, Kevin Hart, and Mayor Duggan. Her work has graced television screens and high-profile parties alike. But life changes.

These days, Jessica is a mom, and while she still loves her wild, sugar-fueled past, she’s found herself craving a slower rhythm, simpler joys, and a return to the kind of baking that first stole her heart. Her great-grandmother, an immigrant and a school baker. She was her original inspiration. Jessica spent much of her young childhood by her side, learning how to bake with patience, purpose, and soul. Milk Glass Kitchen is a tribute to that legacy: small-batch, nostalgic bakes made with skill, story, and a little wink of mischief.

The hustle looks different now, but the fire’s still the same.
